Emergency Management

The emergency management department is technically separate from the fire department but its core systems, infrastructure and responder roles are supported by fire personnel. Many firefighters and EMTs are cross trained to carry out the functions of emergency managers and perform as transportation logistics officers, radiation specialists, HAM radio operators and much more. Each of these positions is essential not only to ensure timely and appropriate response to natural disasters but to safeguard the town as it falls within the radiological emergency planning zone of the Seabrook station nuclear power plant.

Throughout the year the department drills and participates in state wide exercises to address all threats to the town.
